In Ann Rynd’s Atlas Shrugged, one socialist country after another runs out of resources to fund operations, and the Moochers then reach to the shrinking number of producing countries to confiscate capital. We’ve seen that scenario play out time after time, year after year wherever the cancer of socialism is allowed to flourish. Economies die, people die. We are seeing it again with the demise of Greece, which borrowed from the world to finance its Moochers. Now Germany and France and the rest of the EU are contemplating the pumping of cash into Greece to keep it going. Sensitive to the Moocher predicament, they might just make the fatal mistake of pouring good capital after bad. The truly amazing sight is to actually see the Moochers of Greece out in the streets, protesting that their comfortable lifestyles are being threatened!
It truly is a fascinating example of fact following fiction. Putting on my hat as a professional financial analyst, my bet is that Germany and France draw the line and do NOT bail out Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, and Spain (the so-called PIIGS). The Euro will collapse, and Europe will fall into a long, steep decline. The bigger question is – will the US follow?
Right now the average American is realizing that we have elected a President with a fairly pure socialist agenda: take from those who produce and give to those that do not. “Tax the rich, feed the poor, til there are, no rich no more”. Run up the deficits, borrow from the world, pay off constituencies like the unions and the lawyers. Follow the European path. The Europeans and the Moochers have a friend in the White House.
The Republican Party is the best hope of fighting the socialist cancer currently metastasizing in the US. The Republicans will fight the Unions, particularly the public employee unions, fight the lawyers, fight the Moochers at every turn. Vote, campaign, organize, donate – the Republicans are the Continental army fighting the forces of King George – give them whatever support you can.
In January the Massachusetts voter showed that they are willing to say ‘enough’ to the insane direction the Democrats are leading, with the election of Scott Brown. In a state given up as lost to the cancer of socialism by most of the country, the voters of Massachusetts stood and said “this state is not a lost cause, we will not give in without a fight, we are still here, and we will still fight”. In the greatest tradition of our colonial roots, the Bay State once again leads the nation from darkness to a better place, and I have never been as proud to be from Massachusetts. The war for our personal liberties is once again driving the citizens of the Commonwealth to head to the barricades. There will be a major confrontation at the ballot box this November and the Moochers are positioned to suffer a crushing defeat – the question is whether the Moochers will be able to cripple the country in the interim.
Senator Mitch McConnell from Kentucky and Jim DeMint of South Carolina get my vote for co-leaders of the resistance in the Senate. But there are other leaders fighting the good fight: Mitt Romney, Richard Cheney, Andrew Breitbart, Rush Limbaugh, Scott Brown, Charlie Baker, Hugh Hewitt, Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin, Michael Graham, and many many more. This state, this country, are worth fighting for. Join us.
